City West Water is committed to providing you with reliable water and sewer services.
To ensure our network continues to operate at a high level, we're renewing sections of water and sewer mains in Melbourne's Central Business District (CBD), as they are reaching the end of their service life.
Our CBD works program will renew assets in the following locations:
- Bourke Street
- Coates Lane
- Collins Street
- Macarthur Street
- Lonsdale Street
- Penfold Place
- Victoria Parade/Nicholson Street
Project updates

The works on Bourke Street and St Vincent’s Hospital sewer, Coates Lane and Collins Street water main renewal are now finished.
Current works
We have finished the water main renewal works on Macarthur Street and will reinstate the works area in the week commencing 22 February 2021.
Penfold Place water main renewal works started on the 19 February and we anticipate works will take 2 weeks to complete.
Lonsdale Street water main works started on the 19 February and we anticipate works will take 5 weeks to complete.
Upcoming works
Collins Street Water main renewal is schedulded to commence late March 2021.
